Description
The Montagne, originally called ÒOcanÓ, was a French 118-gun first-rate three-decker ship of the line, the lead ship of her class. After several name changes, she became ÒMontagneÓ in October 1793. As Montagne, the ship was the flagship of Rear-Admiral Villaret-Joyeuse in the famous battle known as the ÒGlorious First of JuneÓ, where she was badly damaged by the HMS Royal Sovereign. In 1795 she was renamed ÒOcanÓ again. She served in the French Navy until 1855. This ship pack can also be used to represent the French ship-of-the-line ÒCommerce de Marseille 1788Ó.
